NSI emerges to provide national service to clients

GERMANTOWN, Md. - Alan Kruglak wanted to provide his customers with national scale installation and service, but providing that scope of service to companies with multiple offices as a single location systems integrator could prove a challenge.

Instead, Kruglak teamed up with a group of systems integrators to form National Security Integrators, a new organization that intends to offer nationwide coverage to customers through its network of members. Members of the organization benefit by being referred to or working with a fellow member on a project outside their coverage area.

“Everyone wants one-stop shopping,” said Kruglak, co-owner of Genesis Security Systems, based here, and president of NSI. “You can’t do business today unless you take care of everyone nationally.”

Founding members of NSI met for the first time in March at the ISC West Show in Las Vegas to draft bylaws and map out how to work with one another. As of press time the organization had eight founding members, with another two applications for membership pending.

The plan is for the group to grow to about 12 members who will altogether provide a solid footprint across the United States. In the future, territories in Canada and South America may be added.

To be considered for membership, companies must have a good reputation, be located in a non-competing area as another member and viewed as a market leader. NSI will charge members an initiation fee and annual dues, a rate yet to be determined.

Founding member Jeffrey Nunberg, president of Integrated Security Systems in Miami, said the creation of the group comes as large-scale end-users search for more personal service from their security provider.

“There’s a need because we have a number of national clients looking for service on a local basis in a number of localities,” echoed Arthur Bourque, president of Surveillance Specialties of North Andover, Mass.

To accomplish that, member companies will work together to provide a single source for security installation and service by referring each other and working together on business outside their respected territory.

“If I have a client that moves into Boston, I know I can go to Arthur,” said Nunberg. “Or, if they open in D.C., I have Alan at Genesis. It’s a big opportunity.”
